Lunge – alternating
Lunge – alternating improves single-leg strength and coordination while moving through a clear range of motion. Alternating sides keeps the session flowing and helps maintain symmetry over time.
Instructions
Stand upright with feet hip-width apart. Step one leg forward and lower the body until both knees are bent, with the back knee moving toward the floor. Push through the front foot to return to standing and immediately step forward with the opposite leg. Maintain an upright torso and controlled movement throughout.
Avoid Common Mistakes
• collapsing the front knee inward
• stepping too short or too long
• excessive forward lean of the torso
• rushing transitions without control
Variations
• with shorter or longer steps
• with pause at the bottom
• slow controlled tempo
• adding external load
• continuous walking pattern
