Leg Extension
Leg Extension targets the quadriceps with a simple setup and clear load progression. It's useful when you want to build knee-extension strength without complex technique demands.
Instructions
Sit in the leg extension machine and adjust the seat so the knees align with the machine’s pivot point. Place the pad just above the ankles and grip the handles. Extend the knees to lift the weight until the legs are almost straight without locking. Lower the weight slowly and under control back to the starting position.
Avoid Common Mistakes
• locking the knees at full extension
• using excessive weight and swinging the legs
• lifting the hips off the seat
• lowering the weight too fast
Variations
• with lighter or heavier resistance
• with pause at full extension
• slow controlled lowering
• single-leg
• higher repetitions at low load
